2770. No answer yet for this device but we have found that Brevet is the French word for patent and the trademark is registered or connected to two firms, Hammerle or current title holder Bystronic Laser AG. Both are involved in precision machinery operations.
The trademark was registered in 1977, probably to a company named Monson, which became Hammerle, later some of the Hammerle patents/trademarks were apparently sold to Bystronic. The two companies were contacted but neither recognized the tool.
Here are the guesses so far for this device:
-a device to check the shooting position of a handgun shooter (showing slightest movements of the gun hand/arm)
-The combination of the two knobs and the knob on the plunger could have held a cylinder in position, the mirror would allow the operator to get all things aligned, and then the trigger pull would allow it to drop.
-a refractometer
-precision refractive magnetometer for dowsing for water
-a tool for measuring slopes or vertical angles
-benchmark finder
-part of some kind of video shooting game
-a psychologist's test apparatus
-a device for training to use a crossbow pistol
-a clamp for holding a tube in a vertical position while it is welded
